Leandro Cesar Mudrai Costa
Technical Sales Executive
Leandro joined Expo Process Analytics in September 2023 as a Technical Sales Executive. Leandro is responsible for generating leads, nurturing and fortifying client relationships, adeptly resolving client pain points, providing quotations, managing sales pipelines, and providing sales forecasting insights.
Experienced in international sales, with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical and industrial engineering, supplemented by a diploma in B2B Marketing, Leandro brings more than 8 years of sales experience in markets such as Europe, Latin America, and North America.
In his spare time, Leandro likes to spend quality time with family and friends, explore culinary arts, experiment with new recipes, master the art of barbecuing, discover new sunny destinations, and watch great series on Netflix.
Brian Murphey
Operations Director
Brian joined Expo Process Analytics in November 2023 as Operations Director. Brian is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. A multi-disciplinary leader with over 20 years’ experience across the FMCG, Medical Device and Bio Pharma Sectors, with extensive experience within management and tactical business leadership positions. With expertise in lean management and process improvements, the focus for Brian is to implement robust processes to ensure Expo Process Analytics meets the requirements of its customers.
Brian completed a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) in the National University of Galway and has also competed a Higher Diploma in Food Science and Technology at the University College of Cork. He is also completing his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
In his spare time, Brian likes to spend quality time with family and friends, the occasional round of golf and good cuisine
Teresa Bowes
Office Manager
Teresa joined Expo Process Analytics as Office Manager in 2022. Overseeing a wide range of diverse tasks; every day is different. Teresa ensures the smooth running of the office in Cork. Assisting the team where possible with a multitude of tasks. Supporting the Financial and Commercial Director with P&L, ledger balancing and banking. Focusing on ensuring office financial objectives are met as well as developing and implementing office policies and procedures.
Prior to Expo Process Analytics Teresa worked in scheduling for Major IT companies. Teresa was involved in a National Microsoft upgrade Project for a large Government body. The largest at that time in Europe. Managing over 60 Engineers and working on a very tight timescale, Teresa has also been self-employed for several years whilst living in Barcelona owning an English Language school.
Outside of work Teresa is taxi driver to four children. And in any spare time enjoys sea swimming and CrossFit, growing her own vegetables and Art in any form.
Esra Ece Var
Process Engineer
Esra Ece Var joined Expo Pharma in 2023 as Project Engineer. Esra is responsible for project planning and monitoring as well as technical documentation such as user manuals, service manuals etc.
Esra has a great background in project engineering along with bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and master’s degrees in industrial engineering and engineering management. She also worked as a R&D engineer in global automotive companies and have 3 design patents.
Esra enjoys boxing, playing football and table tennis in her spare time.
Michael Goggin
PAT Applications Engineer
Michael Goggin joined Expo Process Analytics in 2021 as a PAT Design and Applications Engineer. Michael is responsible for reviewing a client’s problem space and deriving a solution to meet the identified requirements. This includes design, manufacture, testing and eventual deployment on end user sites. He stays involved with matured device deployment, but focuses on new and bespoke systems, looking at continuous improvement through client feedback.
Michael is a graduate of Munster Technological University, holding a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a certificate in Validation Science. Prior experience working in the pharmaceutical sector affords him an insight to the high industry standards in regulated environments.
When letting loose, Michael is an avid martial artist with a second degree blackbelt in Tae-kwon-do. Alongside his own training, he enjoys coaching as a means of giving back to the community.
Vic Griffiths
VP Sales
Vic joined Exo Technologies in April 1984 selling Ex equipment for hazardous areas. After 14 years working on the Hazardous area application, Vic initiated Expo LLC which was based in the USA and was a new venture into the Pharmaceutical industry, designing a new range of spectrometers focused on the Pharma Industry. Now Expo Process Analytics today focused on engineering of PAT systems and the interfacing into processing equipment.
Vic is responsible for maintaining and building excellent relationships with Expo Process Analytics customers across all markets that are covered but with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical side of the business.
Vic is also an Assistant County Commissioner for Water Activities for Scouts and a Freeman of City of London. In addition, he is a member of the Worshipful company of Watermen and Lightermen. Vic helps to run the Great River Race in which he has been involved since 1990 and is a trustee of Skerries for Schools which allows comprehensive school access to the river.
Steve Hammond
Scientific Adviser – New Jersey
Steve Hammond joined Expo Process Analytics in 2018 as a scientific advisor. Steve uses his 39 years of experience as a senior leader at Pfizer, to advise Expo on the technical value proposition for the Expo product line, as well as the scientific principles that underpin the individual products.
The focus for Steve is to understand the measurement needs of the markets that Expo Process Analytics operate in, and to develop an understanding of how Expo Process Analytics systems and resources can answer those customer needs.
Steve’s role as a Senior Director at Pfizer encompassed teams focused on the development and deployment of process analytical technology and material science/ forensic analysis support for Pfizer’s global manufacturing plant network. New product and innovative manufacturing technology introduction were a strategic focus in partnership with Pfizer R&D Groups.
A key overall driver for the resources within Steve’s Group was improved supply chain performance.
In his spare time Steve is a keen golfer and die-hard Manchester united supporter. Also Steve has an avid interest in history, particularly related to natural history.
Phil Doherty
Founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Phil attained a MChem in Chemistry and Physiology at the University of Sunderland prior to joining Pfizer Global R&D in 1991. He worked there for 12 years in the Technology Development Group, making novel Process Analytical Technology systems for API and Solids Manufacturing applications.
Phil was the recipient of the 1997 AAPS Outstanding manuscript of the Year for Quality for pioneering work on the design and implementation of the world’s first Online NIR Blend analysis system. Work on the application of chemical imaging in pharmaceuticals & lab robotics followed. Subsequently Phil worked as the PAT Manager delivering innovative technologies such as Model Predictive Control of High Shear Wet Granulation and Inline measurement systems for Continuous Manufacturing of Pfizer’s biggest selling product.
In 2012 Phil founded Process Analytics Ltd, a company specialising in providing total Process Analytical Solutions and Quality-by-Design services to wider the pharmaceutical industry. In 2019 Process Analytics Ltd was acquired by Expo Technologies and became Expo Process Analytics Ltd and Phil has served as the Managing Director of the company since then. In his spare time Phil enjoys photography and travelling.
Alanna Carty
Commercial Director
Alanna Carty joined Expo Process Analytics in 2022 as Commercial Director. Alanna is responsible for leading the commercial team comprising of the Scientific Advisor and VP Sales as well as managing P&L and all marketing, communication and developing and executing the value proposition for Expo Process Analytics. The focus for Alanna is building the vertical segments of pharmaceutical, food and agriculture where Expo Process Analytics fully integrated PAT platform, devices and services can be deployed to facilitate customers success.
An experienced senior leader in commercial and communication roles covering global markets with a particular emphasis on the US and EMEA Alanna has lead teams through M&A, with marketing budgets over €10m and driven commercial growth in businesses covering pharmaceuticals, MedTech, atomic force microscopy and media.
In any spare time, Alanna enjoys networking, roaming the West Cork coastline with her dog, bird watching and doing courses in traditional crafts such as willow weaving, woodwork, longbow making and silversmithing.
